We returned from the Florida Keys the middle of March after five months of enjoying the tropical winter weather (meaning warm), the aqua ocean, the sand in our shoes (if you are a Conch do you ever get the sand out of your shoes?), and eating our fill of seafood (almost). We spent three months at Curry Hammock State Park from October 1, 2007 to January 1, 2008 after which we moved to Long Key State Park where we stayed for two months. After leaving the Keys (kicking and screaming the whole way), we returned home for a couple of weeks. We are now full timing in our RV, but so far have not been able to sell our house. Got back from a trip to South Dakota late last evening. On the agenda was a stayover in Pierre, SD where I had a couple hours to drive around the city. I have been to Pierre several times but it's been a year since my last visit. The town is experiencing a little bit of a building boom with some new retail and housing being built. For a capitol city, it's a small city (about 14,000); however, it is extremely pretty. According to wikipedia, Pierre is one of only 5 state capitols which is not served by an interstate highway system and it is about a half hour from the interstate.
