Today we traveled inland and north. First stop was a small town - Conway - which had a very nice river-walk. The weather has cooled down but still is short sleeves and shorts. We had about 30 minutes of light rain during the day. Otherwise it has been a mix of sun and cloud and quite windy. Chesterfield is located in what is known in South Carolina as the English District. Although the town dates back to the late 1700's it seems that most of the original buildings have been replaced by newer buildings. The balance of the day was spent in transit through rolling farmland and forested areas. Forestry is one of the local industries supplying lumber and paper mills. Trees here are much smaller when harvested - probably 30 or more trees per truck. Tomorrow we continue westward possibly to Nashville by tomorrow night.
