SEUFER6: DESTINATION: NEWPORT RHODE ISLAND & MYSTIC CONNECTICUT WEDNESDAY, FEBRUARY 21, 2007 Just getting home on Sunday, it was hard to believe we were all packed and ready to conquer the east coast. We had a busy 2 1/2 days in Colorado. Our nanny, Becca, stayed with us again, which made it so much easier. On Monday I headed down to Canon City for the day to check up on my parents, where my mom is recovering from hip surgery and my dad is dealing with radiation seeds for his cancer, so it was time for a visit. They are amazing and both doing just great. Since there was no school on Monday, Jessica had a fun day with her girlfriends and a couple guy friends. They went to the mall, played lazer tag, enjoyed an ... read more

So, tody we're (back) in Providence, since this city has a few rare, but excellent things: a) free internet at 1: Starbucks (and I had to try the Mocha frappuccino, I was told, so that's fine) and 2: at the library around the corner from Starbucks. b) free 2 hour parking up in the old historic parts, even on a weekday after 8 o'clock. Downtown, parking costs from 9 dollars ... and it took me a whole 20 minutes slow walking and checking the map to get here from the parking. Fascinating. So, what have I now found out from a week in the NE of this vast country? That the only reason Bostonians might not realize pedestrians are there is because they have to look out for all the crazy bicyclists crossing the roads :-) ... read more

Hello reader. I'm at the very front end of a life changing journey. I'll be leaving for Europe in about a week. Right now I'm preparing for my trip, doing some last minute chores before I can leave. I have bought most everything I'll need. I have a backpack, a nice camera, good shoes, a journal, a guide book, and, of course, cliff bars. I have been talking to people online using couchsurfing.com as a resource from which I can gain potential contacts in Europe. I'll be traveling by myself. My father did the same when he was younger. He would always tell me stories about his adventures in Europe, which only served to whet my appitite even more. I know that I'll have my own stories to tell. And I'll use this site to tell ... read more

I came to visit my sister in Brown University (summer school) but the only thing interesting about this place was the mall. I was there everyday, there was absolutely nothing to do. Duck tour looked like crap. They light these thingies outside the mall which was no big deal. The people were fucking rude, people in cars shout shit at you. At this point I hereby dislike America. What a sad place.... read more
