Melanie and I had a relaxing summer after our big spring road trip. We really didn't travel anywhere. I did visit Pennsylvania Dutch/Lancaster and Atlantic City with my mother back in August. Mel and I also had a nice weekend in New Hampshire and Ogunquit, Maine this fall and also went to Salem, MA for the Halloween festivities.
Even though we didn't travel much we had a great summer full of BBQ's, day trips, a Jimmy Buffett concert (Mel's first) and enjoying each others company.
Our next big trip is to Mont Tremblant in Quebec, Canada over Thanksgiving break (Nov 28-Dec 1). I can hardly wait! I haven't been up there in over 4 years! It will be Melanie's first time.
After that?? Yikes. Not sure. Things have been kinda hectic with Melanie finishing up her last year at URI and applying to law schools. She has been extremely busy and I have been busy running Out & About Travel, and, well, our house & animals..lol. Lots of work!! Not to mention the economy. Its not as easy to just "take off and go"

With that said I am HOPING to go somewhere Jan 6-13, 2009. I have my fingers crossed for Santa Fe, NM, but believe it or not, it may be less expensive to go to Key West, which I have NO PROBLEM with! 😊 Tropical weather and turquoise water sounds just fine to me.

PS: And if that nice gentleman, Blu from Knoxville, TN is reading this, I am so sorry I never wrote about our adventures in TN!! LOL!! You were the sweetest waiter ever. We just wanted to take you back to RI with us and make you our new best friend...lol. In all honesty, by that point in our travels we were physically (and emotionally) exhausted so the "zest" to write another travel blog never quite happened, but THANK YOU for your tips.
