Family time together means watching the football games on TV!!
THANKSGIVING IN OREGON.

November 19 – 27, 2010

On our last published Blog we had made it safely to Salem, OR where we spent our time visiting with Mike and Richard and their families. So now bear with us as we share LOTS of pictures of family!! It was a great time being together for Thanksgiving Day – a time when families in the States try to get together if at all possible. It is also a good time to remember all the blessings we enjoy in our lives and show our gratitude to God- just as the Pilgrims did so long ago. (Yes, they did, despite the politically correct versions the media are circulating these days!!) How special family is to us even though we have been through our ups and downs like most families, still we all enjoy being together, and for that we are truly thankful.

On Sunday we were up early and ready to head home to Canada. Everything was quite icy first thing in the morning. The truck windows would not open and the steps on the trailer were VERY ICY. So Dwain was extra cautious as we headed out. However, the roads

were not bad at all. Most of the day it was cloudy with a few sun breaks, and the odd rain shower. Traffic moved right along and there was not even a line up at the border, which we expected as the Canadians returned from shopping trips to the States!!

So we made it home before dark, unloaded the RV and Dwain got it parked for the winter – where it will sit for a while!! In the 68 days we were away we put a total of 8493 miles (13665 Km) on the truck with NO major problems – though there were a couple of close calls. WHAT A GREAT TRIP!! But we are ready to stay home for a while now. Thank you for following us on our journey, for your visits to this site have reminded us of those who care what we are doing and what happens to us.
