First of all, today is another big birthday in our family! Happy Birthday Steve! We send our best wishes and love to you and your little family. It is a BIG anniversary today for John and his good friend Ron H. 58 years ago today they were sworn in to their new (out of high school) jobs in Washington DC. Look closely and you will see a capstone on top of the melting away softer material. The capstone protects the softer underlying soil and thus makes “hoodoos”. This is a small set of them, but if you look at some of the bigger scenes, you will see this same geological process.

Notice the HUGE petrified tree trunk in front. Don’t know if you can see it, but there was live entertainment going on under the stage.

Great pictures
Pat you outdid yourself on the pictures. I knew the National Park would be great. I love outdoor amphitheater’s, especially when the weather is so mild. I would have really enjoyed that. Please bring that information home. Wish we could do that next summer. Weather has been less humid but pretty warm. Everything is fine here. Hope I still have Tomatoes when you come home they are coming in strong right now. Can’t wait for next blog.
