August was an interesting month. Spent the time traveling from OKC, OK to Arkansas, Missouri, Kentucky, West Virginia, Virginia, and on into North Carolina, where I've been for a few weeks.

It was interesting camping in the national forest near Asheville, NC. Many places are free or $6 for no services except an outhouse.

I'm now in Franklin, NC at their local flea market. Very friendly people and just a great place to rest up and catch up on my sleep before heading out on the next part of my journey. There is no plan made so direction is unknown.

I'm retired and plan to travel and rockhound. New to the gem and rock world. Objective is to leave my homebase of OKC OK and head SW as far as Arizona, then north to Utah and Nevada, then on to Oregon, Idaho, Montana, etc. Plan to take all summer... full info
