Date of trip: November, 2007. Had the opportunity to spend a day hiking in Smokey Mountain National Park over the weekend. I covered trails in the Deep Creek area just outside of Bryson City. I would highly recommend this hike--especially when the leaves are changing. I would also recommend Bryson City over the nearby Cherokee area. This was the second time I've gone through Cherokee and it is a tourist trap nightmare with bumper to bumper traffic. Bryson City is much more quaint with room to breathe.

Indian Falls were in the Smokey Mountains National Park--this was towards the beginning of a 10 mile hike. There are many options available for hikes ranging from a mile to 30 miles or more.

A number of turkeys ran across the trail--they better hide as Thanksgiving is getting near!
