It's been over 2 weeks since I've given an update. It's been a rough 2 weeks. I have the horrible 'crud' that's seems to be everywhere and have had a difficult time getting over it. I finally went to my wonderful NP and got some antibiotics and steroids. Hopefully will feel better soon.

Spring has sprung here in the mountains. Japanese Cherry trees blooming everywhere and it is so pretty; daffodils, crocuses and tulips too. And surprisingly we have a lot of progress on the building. Bud was able to break up the granite and complete the dig for our foundation. There are so many huge rocks that have been dug up. We will use some to develop support along the driveway and maybe some paths in the backyard...not really sure yet 😊 Ken is always up there making sure the workers aren't cutting corners. (I bet they all love that!). They had built the culvert over the driveway and Ken made them rebuild it! Bud, the excavator had left the site for a bit and when he came back, Ken showed him the work and Bud agreed that it needed to be redone.

They completed prepping the ground, dumping and spreading all the gravel. It is ready for the foundation which should begin this week! They also dumped gravel (called crusher run) and we have a very 'initial' driveway. This will harden and serve as a base for a more permanent driveway and keep the dirt road from deteriorating during construction and rain. It's so exciting to see the progress and to imagine this being our home. It's so tempting to start looking on line for ideas for bathrooms, kitchens, lighting but we are so far away from that. We will be moving out of the townhouse (we have been housesitting this winter) and back to the RV sometime in May when the owners return from Florida to spend the summer here. Hopefully the foundation work will begin on Friday....
