Benn wanted a sleep in today but I knew we had a lot to do. (did somebody say shoppppppppppppping!). So I got up what felt like early 9am and opened the blinds and it was SNOWWWWWWWWWWWING. I told Benn it was snowing and to get up and he thought I was lying as he was keen to keep sleeping. So after convincing him he opened his eyes and saw it. Tiny little soft flakes were falling from the sky. It looked like someone above our hotel room was throwing it out of their window or something. You could see it gathering on the roof of a hotel near us. Soooooooo cool.
So that got us up and ready pretty quickly so we headed downstairs to see some more. It was so soft and light. Our hotel didnt include breakfast or have wifi (we did pay $40) so we were a bit sneaky and walked 2 blocks back to our other hotel and used theirs! Their breakfast had just finished so we made oursleves some hot chocolates and used their wifi to check emails at least. When then left this hotel and the snow had stopped! That was it, we never
saw anymore for the rest of the day. So lucky I got Benn out of bed otherwise we could have seen it on the ground and released we had missed it! There wasnt too much of a build up on the ground as it just evaporated as it hit the ground.
So we then got on the sub downtown to century 21. WOW! This place was AMAZING! It was like Myer with all the brands but 1/3 of the price!!! I was soooo excited! Im like Id pay for an airfare to New York just to shop here. And there was soo much variety! So we shopped around and only bought a few things actually which was surprising. I kinda just swept through not looking too hard (trying to keep Benn on my side).
We then walked down to half price tickets and got tickets for Stomp tonight. Then we headed to broadway st to continue shopping. Went past wall st on the way. The shops on Broadway in SOHO all had buy one item get the second 50% off so I was even more excited again!!! I ended up buying a few pars of shoes including some
gum boots (rain boots). Also got some asics runners for $125 which retail for $290 at home. Nice! One shop had tiny little maiquins but with massive butts. Gave me a run for my money... I think mine was still bigger! On the way back we stopped in a wig store I was thinking about going brunette, but as the pictures show it doesn't suit me! Although long hair seems to suit Benn (channelling Jaime from Summer Heights High?).
So we got home and dropped off the bags and headed back downtown on the sub to see Stomp. It was amazing. So talented with so little. So much coordination. My favorite was with the lighters and the sequences they did. Talent.
When we left here it was FREEEEEZING. Ive never felt so cold yet, so we thought screw the sub lets just catch a cab- the quickest way home. So $9 later we were home and back in the warm. On the TV they talked about the wind chill and the temp being well below 0. If it was like this the whole trip, I would have been able to do it. We have been really lucky with
the weather, it has been quite bearable. Tomorrow is our last day here and I still have a few things to buy on my list so lets hope I find them!
