4th juy was Independence day, i was interested to see what this day was all about. At camp each country had to do a performance of some sort which represented their country. Us kiwis (theres about 20 of us) got the groove on to Scribe, and that 'Stop, Drop and Roll' song, did the Haka, and 2 maori songs. Everyone loved it...of course! as for the aussies...well! the owner of camp said 'that for two countries so close together, how can one have so much talent, and the other none?!' yay for us! haha.

After our performances we had a musical concert - very patriotic, and then a huge fire works display - very cool. Was a good night. After all this I was dragged up to the CC by Sam the aussie and Jacq the S'african, all 3 of us with no money, wearing our boardies, hoodies and jandals - so flash!. Was fun ordering rounds of water, the bar ladies wouldnt give us a jug, so we had to keep going up - we were so sober!! We spent the walk back to camp chasing fireflys with some empty cups we took with us - we got one too! they are so cute, just little bugs - not like a fly at all! When back at camp we went to the staff room and found a fancy looking cake in the fridge, so ate half of it (yum!) and then went to bed!

Had a good Indepence day!

Ive been a bit of a slacker so this entry is kinda old!! almost a month! but its all good! i only have a few photos from indepence day, so ive decided to add some other, newer ones which i have taken in the past week or so 😊
