Dear Ones,

Well we have started into the holiday season already! I say this only since I work at Sears in the tool department and they have been playing holiday music since November 1st! Oh well, so is the world of retail sales.

It seems with the elections over now, that things are mellowing out a bit here in New York; I am sure that the entire country can take a collective sigh of relief now that the craziness of the election year is over. Whether the candidate that you wanted to win did or not, our country is still the greatest on the face of the planet and we are a resilient people no matter what is thrown at us. One of the biggest determining factors for our decision to go out as Way Disciples was because of the state of our union right now. We talk to people daily and what almost always comes up is our economy and people's concerns about their well-being. The great thing is that we have answers for them!!! We can teach and share that despite what the media and senses realm is screaming at us each day, our God is still

on the throne and He will take care of us!

Psalm 46:1
"God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble."

This ministry year was have been studying from the platform of Psalm 100 where it says that we can serve the Lord with gladness. We have been focusing in on Moses' life this week and Marsha taught in our fellowship about his life in the book Exodus and I thought she made a fantastic point where Moses and the children of Israel were backed up against the Red Sea with the Egyptians bearing down on them.

Exodus 14:10-14
"And when Pharaoh drew nigh, the children of Israel lifted up their eyes, and, behold, the Egyptians marched after them; and they were sore afraid: and the children of Israel cried out unto the LORD.

And they said unto Moses, Because there were no graves in Egypt, hast thou taken us away to die in the wilderness? wherefore hast thou dealt thus with us, to carry us forth out of Egypt?

Is not this the word that we did tell thee in Egypt, saying, Let us alone, that we may

serve the Egyptians? For it had been better for us to serve the Egyptians, than that we should die in the wilderness.

And Moses said unto the people, Fear ye not, stand still, and see the salvation of the LORD, which he will shew to you to day: for the Egyptians whom ye have seen to day, ye shall see them again no more for ever.

The LORD shall fight for you, and ye shall hold your peace."

In verse 10 it says that the children of Israel "lifted up their eyes". They looked at the problem instead of the solution. It's easy to take ownership of our problems and obstacles instead of claiming the promises of God which are the answers and the very present help in a time of trouble.

In verse 13 Moses says, "Fear ye not, stand still, and see the salvation of the Lord". This is as applicable and important today as it was the day that Moses was confronted with the Egyptians bearing down on them and their backs against the Red Sea. God has not changed! He will do the same for us in all of our life's

challenges as He did for Moses and the children of Israel. Of course almost all people know what the results were in this situation and it says twice in the Word that God is not a respector of persons. He would do the same for us today if we needed it and He is willing to deliver us from our "Egyptians bearing down on us" when we believe His Word and the promises He has given us to claim.

We have been here only a month and we have literally spoken to hundreds of people already; as you will see from the pictures included, our kids are flourishing here in NY. We love you all and look forward to sharing more exciting things from our big adventure.

Serving the Lord with gladness,

Jim, Marsha, Clara Rose, Sam, and Hannah Grace Perry

What pictures and hearfelt letter
Jim, Marsha, Clara, Sam and Hannah! I love the pictures and it does look like you kids are really enjoying yourselves in your new home. Jim, I guess I jumped the gun in my email I just sent before checking the blog site again. I hinted toward a new updated blog to see how you all are doing and well it is obvious you all are doing well and yes sometimes we are too focused on our problems and need to just simple lift our eyes up to our Heavenly Father and know that he will take care of every detail of our lives. Love you all much! JoAnn C. Keefe

Extraordinary Blessings
Glad to hear that all of you are 'flourishing' so well. The kids are beautiful, as usual, and you sound excited with your Mission. You and Marsha are doing an extraordinary job and your many blessings are a reflection of your love and devotion to the Lord, each other, and your family. Keep up the good work and, above all, stay warm!!! Lots of Love and prayers from Mom and Sandy, (aka Grandma Judy and the 'Silly Grandpa').
