Last stop, New York City....

Even though we were only in New York for 4 days or so we managed to cram so much in that if feels like we were there for at least a full week, and yet there were still things that we didnt have time to do.
The hostel we were staying at was pretty cool, brightly decorated and a great atmosphere, met a good couple of people on our first night there as we decided to take part in one of their nightly drinking competition - always a great way to make new friends 😊
New York itself was amazing, we loved it. So much so that we could both see our selves living there one day, though 6 months tops, remember we do own that t.shirt now that states 'allergic to cities'. NY is also one of the most easiest cities we've ever visited, I honestly dont believe it would be possible to get lost there, especially not with the fantastic underground system. Our first port of call after munching down on some excellent food was Time Square, good place to get your bearings, though definutly dont spend too much time there. We splashed out and treated ourselves to tickets to go see 'Mr Ripley's Believe it or Not', that was so so cool, especially the moving tunnel part 😉. We also had to go see the 3 floors of M & M's, absolutely crazy, so much chocolate!!! Simon got himself a HUGE bag of different kind of nutty ones and I got my American measuring cups, we were both satisfied.
So before we had left Maine we had pre-booked one of those city tour buses, cheesy i know, but so handy when your only there for a short period of time. We did the downtown tour which covered the Empire State Building, Madison Square, Soho, Noho, Chinatown, Little Italy, via Ground Zero and the Brooklyn Bridge, probably more as well but my memory is now failing me since it seems so long ago. I know that Soho and Noho were are favourite places as not only did they have excellent places to go eat but its also much more neighbourhood areas, so full of new yorkers as a posed to tourists. Within the Bus ticket we were also able to take the ferry out to the Statue of Liberty, gave a really great view of both the city and of Brooklyn, nice skylines. We still had the Uptown tour, free museum enty and a night time tour to do, but we just didnt have enough time to do it all so we just hopped on the night time tour, this was cool as the bus took you over the bridge and into Brooklyn, it also parked near the water front so again you got some great views and pictures of the city skyline. On our last day we decided to check out Central park, perfect really as this was the best day for it, beautiful blue sky, the park really is immensely huge, you never really figure how big till you see it for yourself and i dont think we even managed to cover it all, after walking for some time we decided to go and visit the Alice in Wonderland Statue and the wee mini motorised boat pond, and from there it was extremely easy to find out way out. That evening we went up the Rockafeller building to get to view looking down, definutly worth going both at night and in the day, we only went at night, which was great but the pictures to be had of central park would have been spectacular during daylight. To top off our NYC adventure we took in a comedy show, again worth doing, nothing better or healthier than a good laugh.....NYC is now our 3rd favourite city in the world
