We went to the zoo saw lions and tigers but no bears oh no! But we did see kangaroos and tapirs and monkeys and tutles and lizards and mice and a nun.
We also sat on a bench and ate a really boring muffin.

At 42nd St we saw a man playing a saw.

As we waited in line for the top of the empire state a family quizzed us on the ratio of rabbits to cats in english households. Then a woman did a similar thing on the ancestory of wales. Obviously these are subjects we are both very familiar with.

We walked through times square at dusk and overheard this conversation:

"Man 1: When the weather gets hot the clothes come off

Man 2: I know...

Man 1: ...Its great!"

We later went to M&M world where dissapointingly there were only 3 floors of M&M madness. As we walked back to the subway extremely tired after a jam packed day we saw a man selling Obama condoms "for hard times!"

Day 3

Accidently ended up in Brooklyn so we walked the mile accross the bridge to Manhattan. A tourist cliche but amazing nonetheless.

Later we headed over to battery park (in the rain) to go to the statue of liberty. On the way we had a sit at a table and met our first American ladybird (bug).

As we waited in line to go see lady liberty we were played twinkle twinkle little star on the steel drums. We saw an Ikea water taxi which was pretty and yellow.

We wandered through So Ho, Greenwhich and Tribeca. We went to Dean & Deluca and ate nectarines that tasted like vanilla ice cream.
Went to FAO Schwarz and played the big piano!

To top off another busy day we went to china town for (suprisingly) chinese, served with tea (which we both drank!)

If your'e reading let us know we would love to hear from everyone. leave a comment and let us know whats going on.

Busy days!
Hi It's a pity you didn't take a pedometer with you to measure how far you're walking each day. I imagine you must be walking miles but I guess that's good as you'll see areas of NY that you wouldn't see if you took the subway. I think the rain you've been having has reached us as after a spell of very hot weather today has been cooled by a steady downpour. I hope you're finding some good cheap places to eat and chill out. I guess tomorrow will be a big party in NY so have a great time and take care. xx

Hello from Heaton!
Helloooo lovely imogen (and lucy who i'm sure is equally nice! my friend Lucy's lovely so I'm sure you are!) Your trip so far sounds AMAZING and I haven't really had chance to think about it properly before but it sounds truly brilliant... you'll have to crack out a map when you get home and show me where you went, imo! So you're driving round America then? Wow! Bradford...not been here much tbh but apparently there's been a heatwave (i.e. over 15 degrees!! Oh we're such easily excitable people...) Anyway. I'm going to upload some Praguian pics now which you can have a peruse through later lovely imo. Hope you're fab, keep enjoying your trip! Ruthy xxxxxx
