It is Sunday and it is raining, after several sunny days. This is a good time to put together a blog. We have been to many beautiful places, so I will try to show you several of the best. Spring has finally arrived in New Mexico and everything is bursting forth.

1. Beginning in Santa Fe, we have been to many art galleries along Canyon Road. We could only take pictures outside so here are several. And yes, I did buy some silver jewelry, but tried to keep it down. Jewelry
is the ONLY thing I can buy now, because the car is loaded! We also did several hikes into the mountains above Santa Fe.

2. The Los Alamos area is on high mesas. We went last Monday, but the museum was closed. We are going back our last week in New Mexico. We have been to this area several times. It includes Bandelier, White Rocks, Grande Valle also.

3. Abiquiu. This area is where Georgia O'Keefe lived and painted It is easy to understand why she loved it so much. The beauty and variety of scenery made me feel this is truely what New Mexico is all about. I want to go back again this week There is sooooo much to see there.

4. Here are some pictures of our "compound" as Jim calls it. It seems confining at times to be surrounded by walls so much. But that is the custom.

The next time you hear from us we will be in St. George, Utah, where we will spend May. We will have time to go back to Los Alamos and Abiquiu before we leave. I hope you are all enjoying the springtime. I (for one) am getting anxious to be back in good old PITTSBURGH! We haven't found any cities that match the beauty of this city. Not that the west isn't grand!

I can't forget one more favorite place in New Mexico which was the Jemez Mountains, both for its towering mesas and the history of the Jemez Indians.
