The Earthships

A community of more than 100 completely sustainable homes outside of taos. They're built out of stacked tires with rammed earth and covered in mud or plaster. All their water comes from a roof rainwater catchment system and then inside is a greywater system. All the electricity is solar or wind powered. Pretty cool homes.

Journey on
Journey on my wayward son. Because when the Journey's off. It ain't a Journey no more. Live it, Dream it. Hold it, Speak it. Share it, Give it. Then let it go! Best wishes, Papa and remember: When there is a fork in the road; take it!

Bon Appetit
Kyle, I hope you are well and that your journey is full of adventure and glorious sights. It was nice meeting you in Sgnirps-Asogap. I hope your rig is holding up. I was so fortunate to have not a single flat tire on my ride from Durango to Taos. The climb up through Tierra Amarilla was tough. I walked my rig for about 5 miles in intervals. The descent was sweet though, especially with the BOB Yak helping me down. A cinnamon-colored juvenile black bear came within a quarter mile of my campsite and a road angel named Terry West took a picture of it. The bear never bothered me. I spent the night under the first lean-to that I came upon at the top of the mountain. My jounral is posted at www.crazyguyonabike.com Search for "Durango".....or should I say "Ognarud"?
