Scientology is a lesser known religion. However, there are celebrities who are Scientologists themselves. Scientolgy was formed by L. Ron Hubbard in 1954. Hubbard even opened up the Church of Scientology in Camden, New Jersey. Scientologists believe that they are immortals who have yet to uncover their true nature. Apparently, Scientologists' most painful memories is what is keeping them back from becoming 'free'. There is no God is Scientology, but Scientologists believe that the world was populated by people called 'thetans' who lives years before humans came. They do not believe in aliens. However, I personally believe that this is what they are starting to imply that aliens created humans, but this is besides the point. There really is no way to worship the religion, but there is a so called ritual in Scientology. In order for someone's spirit to be free, they have to go through a process called auditing. Auditing is supposed to make someone re-live their most painful memory to meet true freedom. As of 2012, there are about 500,000 Scientologists. Today, Scientology is still met with controversy, but not only from other religions, but from non-religious people too.
