We begin our exploration of our world with our first trip to the coast. It's promised to be a beautiful day and it was one of the best. After a quick stop at WAWA for some coffee, we headed to Chatsworth, home of Ocean Spray and the cranberry bogs. As is typical of the east coast there is lots of history here and we chatted with a local historian at the Chatsworth Country Store. After picking up some chocolate covered cranberrys, some New Jersey Honey and some cranberry soap, we headed east.
We stopped at a few state parks, checked out some camping and canoeing opportunities and kept heading east. As we crossed the bridge to Long Island Beach, we realized we were entering a new world. Although much has closed for the season, there was still some activity at the beach as if to say good-bye to summer.
At the Barnagot lighthouse information center, we were informed that there are many lighthouses in New Jersey and made a plan to visit them all.
What a great day! We said "Don't you wish we lived here? OH!! WE DO!!"
