We are in the odd part of our trip, where there aren't a lot of things we really want to see, but we need to visit the next few states to make sure we visit every one. So this morning, we are in Connecticut, and just outside our hotel in Groton is a US Navy Submarine Base. There is a museum there called the Submarine Force Museum, it is small and free and run by the Navy, but docked outside us the actual USS Nautilus, the first nuclear sub. We have been on a diesel sub in San Francisco, and a diesel German U-Boat in Atlanta, but we have never seen inside of an actual nuclear submarine so this should be cool. So on July 15, we pulled into the driveway of my parents home in Livingston, NJ. Road trip complete. The contented feeling of returning home and reaching your final destination after an extended vacation is a good one. As I mentioned at the beginning of this road trip series of blogs, NJ was not the culmination of this adventure. I now write you from Göteborg (that's Gothenburg in English) where school and city life have begun. So far so good, but huge chunks of our hearts remain in Kauai, NJ and Halmstad with the mountains, oceans, friends and family we love and miss so much.
