The small lake has a diameter of about 10 metres.
Four of us did a week-end hiking trip in the Presidential Range of the White Mountains. The highest and most famous peak is Mount Washington, which we did not hike. Our lead has hiked it three times already, so we decided instead to hike Mounts Webster and Jackson on Saturday, and Mounts Jefferson, Adams and Madison on Sunday. The last three mountains are especially beautiful. The beginning of the hike was in a forest, but around an altitude of 4000 feet the vegetation becomes parse and there is an excellent view to the surrounding mountains and valleys throughout. The mountaintops are all rocks, and there was scrambling on rocks to reach the peaks. We were extremely lucky with the weather, as it was very mild for September and the peaks were not obstructed by clouds.
