O'Neil Flooding
Too close for comfort Finally reached North Platte. Luckily there was a spot open at the Holiday RV Park. Got in, hooked up and supper ready in aboutn 20 minutes. Glad I cooked up some ground beef and froze it.
The trip was non eventful until we were a few miles south of O'Neil, Nebraska. I guess the road washed out and a DOT employee had just set up a stop to turn people around seconds before we arrived. We had to back track and go a different route. When we got to O'Neil, we found several places were the water was over the road. This is the Elk Horn River. I have added a couple pictures. Then we headed south towards Broken Bow and found out a bridge was out just north of Taylor, a town we were travelin through. We also heard they evacuating a town about 30 miles southeast. Luckily we are pretty much out of the bad areas.
Of course, now that we are stopped in one place, Fred thinks it is time to carouse. He's human watching in the front window. I never thought I would have to hear two kids fight over a window but ...Fred was
O'Neil
Close call in the open window behind the booth where we were eating. Ethel decided he needed to move. Yep, cat fight. I opened a window on the other side and now there is peace.
Not to much more to report. The plan is to tackle the Rockies in Colorado tomorrow but Gary doesn't know that yet....
