Praying Mantis? A lot of times I feel like the Lord blesses me more than I really deserve. Family, friends, and safety are some examples just to name a few. I guess the longer I am on this trip, the more I am able to see life in a new way and from a different perspective than I have had in the past. Being out of school is such a freeing experience for me, and I feel like I am finally able to find myself again. At times I feel like I should settle down with a job and whatever else, but other times I think that I need to get all of these desires out of me before I do anything else. My desires include traveling, finding myself, more traveling, being financially stable, paying off loans, and some other things. I do know that a couple of these rely on having a job, I fully understand that.
This morning I walked to downtown Seward and hung out at the library for a while. Actually I hung out there most of the morning and afternoon, and I had a great time! I just love to sit around with my laptop, catching up
sunset
nice sunset in Lincoln on important things, and doing research on things that I want to learn about. Shirley met me at Dairy Queen for lunch, and I showed her all of the pictures I have taken on my trip.
Later this evening I headed to Lincoln to have dinner with my uncle Maynard and his wife Wanda. I had never met Wanda before, but she seemed like a very nice lady! We ate dinner and chatted for a while, and then I headed out to meet my friend Rachel that I knew from Hesston. We got some coffee at a local place and hung out and talked. There happened to be a lot of bikes parked on the street, so at times I had a hard time focusing on the conversation. I get distracted by bikes VERY easily. I found out Rachel is a huge fan of The Office too, so we went back to her place and watched a few episodes of season 2 and 3. My original plan was to not drive after dusk/dark, but I decided to just go for it anyway. Not the safest thing, but I took it easy the whole way home. Whenever possible I drove behind trucks or whatever other vehicles were out on the road. And when I was all alone out in farm country I drove pretty slow. I just have this fear of hitting a deer. I have known a couple people that hit deer in the past. One of the guys was hurt pretty bad, and the other walked away from the incident. I just don’t want to put myself in these situations if they are totally avoidable.
Tomorrow I am heading into Lincoln again. I will be hanging out with my cousin Jared in the afternoon, and having dinner at his place once his parents get home. Since Rachel knows my cousins from church, she might come over later in the evening and hang out too. I will be spending the night at their place tomorrow night too, I figured that is a lot easier since I will be there for dinner anyway. It adds a few miles to the drive to Hesston on Friday, but not by a significant amount.
Today was kinda cool talking to the motorcycle shop in Hesston. Lynette reminded me about the shop her brother in-law worked at in Hesston, since I was talking about getting a new rear tire soon. I have a little tread left, but not enough to make it home. I figured I better get it done some time soon so I don’t have to keep worrying about it. The rear tire has lasted much longer than I anticipated, which is great! I have 9,000 miles on it now, and it could easily go another 1,000 miles. Not bad for how sticky they are! Anyway, back to the story. I called the shop and told them the tire that I wanted. The guy said they don’t carry those but they could order one. Unfortunately it wouldn’t be in by the time I needed it though. He said they probably had others in stock that would be similar in performance, and he went to check what they had. He came back on the phone and said they actually had the exact tire and size that I wanted, it was from a guy that special ordered it and never picked it up. So I scheduled a time on Friday when I arrive for the shop to replace my tire. I figured this was a very clear sign that this is what I was supposed to do! When life hands you a tire, do a huge burnout! Wait no that isn’t right, when life hands you a tire, thank the Lord for watching over you.
Ok just one more thing. When I was in Harrisonburg, I was trying to track down an old friend of mine I met at Hesston. I wasn’t able to find him, so I gave up. Weird thing is his sister lives with Rachel in Lincoln! So I got his number from her and I plan on calling him. I know I won’t be able to see him, but it will at least be nice to talk to him again.

God is watching over you, yes? He knows your needs (rear tire) and guides you to the exact place that needs it to be bought. How cool is He?
