Longest Day Ever!

The reason this blog is so late? We've been at the corner of "no" and "where" all day long. After 16 hours on the road, we finally arrived outside Bozeman, MT.

After our jaunt to 1880s town, we made another fun stop at Wall Drug, a ginormous tourist trap in Wall, SD. We were lucky to get out, only purchasing a piece of clothing each (and milkshakes, of course.)

Next up was Mount Rushmore, where Freddie and Gimli bravely marched us into the Black Hills. Quick stop to take lots of pics and get back on the road to....

...the Crazy Horse memorial. Don't know exactly what it is? Neither did we....Turns out it's GOING to be a huge carving ala Mt Rushmore of Crazy Horse on his horse. But they've been working on it since 1948 and so far just his face is carved out. We stopped for lunch, took some more pictures and hopped back in the car to drive through....

...Deadwood. We were running behind so we just drove through this adorable mountain town, where Wild Bill is burried.

After all of this site seeing we had a full 9 hour day of driving left ahead of us. We did fairly well, only stopping a bit short of our goal destination (translation: we have to get up pretty early tomorrow.)

State Summaries:
- South Dakota: So many bugs. Best billboards ever. Although we are still wondering what "Feed the Habit. Buckle Up" means. What is the habit? Wearing seat belts? Shouldn't we make it a habit? Why are we feeding it?
-Wyoming: Crazy creek names! Dead Horse Creek, Crazy Woman Creek, Dry Creek, Clear Creek, Rock Creek, Prairie Dog Creek and Tongue Creek
- Montana: BEAUTIFUL so far!

Highlights/Quotes:
-Hot Rod Steakhouse...have you been holding out on us Andrew?
- "Baby cows!" -Sarah, said in a 4 year old voice....every single time we see them
- Great exchange:
-Diana: Smartass.
-Sarah: Did you just call me a moron?
-Diana: No. I said smartass. How do moron and smartass sound the same to you?
-Sarah: Maybe I am a moron
- "Here, scoot over so I can look at my red hair" -Diana (duh)
- "I've got a 2nd wind and I have a feeling there's a 3rd in there. Maybe a 17th. I don't know. I can't explain my body, it's amazing. Limitless." -Diana, talking about still driving
- While listening to Harry Potter audio book:
-Sarah: Everybody pees Diana, even Dumbledore.
-Diana: Inappropriate. And unnecessary.
- "I'm gonna say this to you now, and I'm gonna mean it. No, I'm not going to say that. It's mean" -Diana, to Sarah
- "Haha, pirate ship!!!" -Diana, with no context. Whatsoever. No pirate ships, nothing. Sarah continues to be baffled.
- Navigator's Log. Stardate 25-29-09. 9:23 pm. We've come to the point in the trip where Diana is demanding not to be looked at. And giggling insanely. For miles. While driving.

Tomorrow is the last day! 10 hours to go!
