Melisse and I are doing all those bits of minutiae one has to do before embarking on a journey. We have lists and lists "to do". Some things are simple like picking up an audio cable so I can plug my first generation iPod into my car stereo. Others are more daunting such as making out a will in case... So the house is starting to be partially shut down. We are fortunate that our niece and her husband will be renting from us while we're gone. They are young and newly married so have little and can use a lot of our stuff. Ergo, no need for much storage. Ruby Grace, our new (to us) VW campervan is getting the look from Glen over in Alton. He's an old hippy who has been working on VWs forever. Hopefully we won't need to meet a lot of Glen's on the road but this is a '91 VW so I'm sure we will. Melisse has her work ready for the Jackson Hole art fair so that is in order. She just finished last year's taxes as I 'm sitting here. Tomorrow we go for a last visit to the yurt to grab the stove to bring. We'll probably do a last float on the Meramec River with Ron and Rita. Sunday is the farewell bash with our friends. It is starting to feel real that we are really launching.

Love the van. If you come this way there is a VW repair shop at the end of our road. I just took my '96 BMW in and had all the dings taken out and had it repainted. It looks amazing. I always wanted a $40,000 sports car. I just had to wait until it matured. I was in Jackson Hole last summer. Joe Swift (Tom's brother) lives 20 miles north of Yellowstone. You absolutely want to pay him a visit. You can camp in his "yard" overlooking the Yellowstone river and across from Emigrant Peak. Spectacular! Let me know if you want contact info. He and Lorraine are a blast. Looking forward to you escapades.
