The day started with a styrofoam breakfast at the Diamond Inn Motel in Villa Ridge (MO) and went straight to the Meramec Caverns in Stanton. The caves were known as a Jesse James hideout but nowadays they should be visited for their amazing mineral formations.
We stopped in Lebanon for lunch but the place our guidebooks told us to check out was closed until further notice ... the alternative actually was better ... the year they still write is 1965 ... for sure! Great experience and friendly faces.
Next stop : Exotic Animal Paradise .... a drive trough animal zoo where you can feed everything from goats to Zebras. It was hilarious but our safari ended with a flat tire. But no worries, we called our road service and a nice guy came to change the tire, another nice guy will get us a new one tomorrow morning. So we are kind of stucked tonight in Springfield (MO) but the nice pool and the steak house will compensate for the lost miles.
