A little fishing in Missouri
I-80 is a busy highway with lots of trucks and so, with another windy day ahead, I decided to take a different route home. We traveled south a little from Lincoln into the northeast corner of Kansas, then due east on good U.S. highways. We made good progress and stopped for the night at a nice campground near Macon, Missouri, almost two thirds of the way across the state.
Once we hit eastern Nebraska things started to look much greener and now there are plenty of trees and predominantly farms rather than ranches. The terrain is rolling hills and it definitely looks Midwestern.
I fished in the campground pond tonight but otherwise we spent a quiet evening at the camper.
We've been on the road now for thirty days and we've seen a lot of the country, including five states that neither Barb nor I have ever been to. We're pretty much ready to go home now, with 800 miles left to go.
