Last night we experienced a good Mid-West thunder storm. The thunder was rattling the windows all night and needless to say we did not sleep to well. This didn't help the drive at all since today was when we braved the trek across Kansas. Flat and not a lot to see, for a long time. We stopped in Abilene to visit the Dwight D. Eisenhower Presidential Library and Museum. Ike's Museum was a nice break from the road, and it smells like cookies in Abilene thanks to the flour plant. We had lunch at the Historic Kirby House, great soups. After lunch it was on to Kansas City Miszoura. We walked around Union Station and finished the day with a gigantic Kansas City barbecue dinner at Jack Stack.

377 miles of travel in the day. 1,747 miles total. 70 E
