Train to Twain: August 2012

On a bright and sunny day, Karen and Linda had the opportunity of experiencing something very different and unusual, the Train to Twain. We boarded the refurnished Pullman Train car from the old Alaska touring days for a day trip to Hannibal. The seats were very comfortable, including a lovely dining car for breakfast or dinner! The ride was a 4 hours and 28 minute trip to Quincy at which point we changed to a bus to Hannibal, the hometown of Mark Twain otherwise known for his writings of the adventures of Tom Sawyer, Huck Finn and Becky Thacker.

We were able to go “spelunking” – cave exploring; bought cheese and did wine tasting in the area of wonderful little tourist shops. We had a savory lunch in a very quaint luncheonette picturesque of the old days in Hannibal. For more information view the attached link or call us for details. Link to reviews of the Train
