Trash Bag Chic
Katlyn and Kevin model the latest in garbage bag rain wear at the Biloxi style show, spring 2008 Wednesday March 19th
Word of the Day: Precipitation!!! Yes… Precipitation, not snow like we hear home got this week but good old rain. Because of the rain we decided to wait to head out to our job site until after it stopped raining. So after breakfast at 6:00 a.m. we had about an hour and a half of free time. What better to do with free time but sleep! Morgan and Matt helped out in the kitchen cleaning up from breakfast while the rest of us took a nap. We arrive at our work site about 9:00 a.m. ready for work, but unfortunately the rain wasn’t ready to stop. It started raining soon after we got back to work cleaning out the brick pile. While Scott ran to go order some wood to finish the end of our patio, the rain got heavier. By the time he got back, we were all pretty wet, but still working. Kevin and Katelyn decided to make a fashion statement by creating some garbage bag ponchos. The rain finally subsided around noon, and Miss K returned with some dry City of Biluxi t-shirts for us. Our brick laying continued until around 2:30 when we

Zan breaks concrete packed up a little early so we could get cleaned up and head to New Orleans. After cleaning up, we were on the road again for the hour and a half drive to New Orleans. When we got to New Orleans, we followed Scott around the French Quarter in search of a good place to have some good Cajun cuisine. Our new food to try tonight was raw oysters in the half shell. After some persuasion from Scott, Asel, Morgan, Susan, and Katelyn all agreed to try one. On the count of three all the oysters went in, Morgan’s oyster came back out before anyone could have counted to four. No one except Scott, was real thrilled by the raw oysters and I doubt anyone will be ordering them again anytime soon. After a quick stop at some souvenir shops, we left The Big Easy for home.
Tomorrow we hope to finish up our brick patio. Miss Kay also gave us tickets to eat at the Beau Rivage’s Buffet to thank us for our hard work, so we plan on eating there for supper tomorrow night.

Blessings...
I've been sharing blog photos with co-workers and friends and keeping them abreast of the experiences you've shared on the site. So many of my collegues have said, "You must be so proud of your son." Of course I beam and respond, "Absolutely! I truly am blessed." But I also add, "I really believe that the LSC 'kids' will come away from this experience feeling equally blessed." I hope for each of you this experience has been all you hoped it would be - and more! Travel home SAFELY!
