4 days!!

We're on to the final countdown! (cue theme music). Saturday evening Roger and I fly out to Dallas, then Florida (Fort Lauderdale) and then Sunday morning we'll be in Guatemala City! We're working on arranging a private drive from the airport to our apartment, just so it's one less thing we have to worry about. We'll head up to Duluth soon and spend a few days there before saying Adios to Jade (and Jason and all our lovely friends and family up there, of course!) My parents will be taking us to the Mayan Temple exhibit at the Science Museum before we leave -- it'll be kinda cool to see the exhibit one day and then a week later, go see the real thing!



We have our apartment situation all finalized and are actually really excited to be living there! (Here's the link to our apartment, pictures are here! http://www.casaxelaju.com/apartment-7/) If you click on the link, you see it says we only have the apartment reserved until December 14. After 90 days we have to leave the country to renew our visa, so we decided at that point we'll decide if we want to stay in that apartment, or find a different one...moving will be easy since we're living out of one suitcase each! I can't wait to wake up, look out the windows, and see volcanoes and mountains 😊



People keep asking what we will be doing down there. As of now, we're keeping everything super open... really, a year long vacation or so! Roger would like to attend classes probably, and if I find a job, AWESOME -- if not, I'm sure I'll look into volunteering opportunities. For the first week or even few weeks though, we're just going to explore the city and take it easy. I'm so looking forward to waking up and walking to the market for the day's food, before getting some fresh coffee and lounging around. Well, we have to buy some final items for the trip, make copies of our passports, etc, and call the embassy today so I should probably get off the computer! We'll make sure we update the blog so much more when we're actually doing stuff 😊
