Following the recommendation of the park ranger, we rowed to a reedy location not far from shore. It was great fishing.

Not bad, but if we go again I'd reserve either #22 or #24; they're on the lake side.

The chipmunks were so tame. They ran all around the campsite -- including right under my chair!

These carts worked great. They were perfectly balanced, so pulling or pushing them was easy.

Located just outside Battle Lake, Minn., this state park is about a 2 hour drive from the Twin Cities.
