I'm starting to breath the air differently, knowing I'll be leaving this New England freshness soon. I had my last night of African dance on Monday, and as we ended the dance, drums coming to their end, tears began streaming down my face. I'm looking up a lot, noticing architecture that I've never noticed before. I'm spending time with friends, but conversations always include something more we'd like to do together...and then remember, a mix of sadness and excitement, I won't be here. I eat huge salads and am thankful I live near a whole foods coop. I run around the pond in the mornings, wondering if running in Italy is acceptable. We only start to appreciate that which reminds us it might be lost. Italy. I'm coming.... read more

Wow ... I can't believe it. In only 5 days, I will be leaving on my trip. It's surreal to think that it's already here. The months flew by ... and I still have tons to do before I leave. Purchase supplies, Eurail passes and insurance ... pack up my room ... say goodbye to my friends and loved ones. As excited as I am about leaving on this wonderful adventure, I'm a little sad to say goodbye. The trip is only a little over two months, but it's quite a large chunk of time when you think about it. What does this trip have in store for me?  I'm hoping for a whole new perspective on life, a clarity that is difficult to achieve while going through the routines of your everyday life. I hope ... read more

Without any doubt, Boston is a young-feeling and sophisticated city, judging by its nature of being the home of world’s many prestigious colleges and universities: Harvard, MIT and Boston College to name a few. I’m back in Boston again to continue on with our landscape studio’s project site observation of the Parcel 18 Big Dig. Arrived in Boston Chinatown with a four-hour bus ride from NYC Chinatown, I weaved my way through familiar streetscape of Boston to meet up with Adam at the Central Fraternity Office in Lewis Wharf. After depositing my bags at the CFO, I took off for a couple of hours to do the site observation. Part of our studio group’s interest lies within the Boston historical landmark of Custom House, which sits next to the distinctive Grain Exchange Building, used to mark ... read more

An exciting development in my trip plans is the addition of a travel partner. One of my good friends, Chris, is going to join me for a large part of my travels in Europe. Yeah! It should be really fun. :-) On Friday, he and I visited a local travel/map store to get a better idea of what we'd like to do. We pulled a large rail map from the Europe travel section and laid it out in front of us. As I stood there running my fingers from country to country, I couldn't believe that I will be there in a little over 2 months. The more we chatted, the more excited we became about the prospect of traveling through Central Europe. Some of the cities we're contemplating a visit to are Prague, Berlin, Budapest, ... read more

My ticket to Europe is bought and paid for ... I can't believe it! It's rather surreal and exhilarating at the same time. Now, I have to amass the necessary funds to sustain myself for 2.5 months. Wish me luck! ... read more
