Why Boston is considered a "walking city":
poor advance signage
scary driving
one-way streets not indicated on any map I've seen
streets that don't connect to streets that should
traditional rules of the road don't apply (we've learned not to do the "don't proceed through an intersection unless you can clear it" rule,... people cut in front in the intersection and block it)
changing street names
