Lothian, MD - Mount Vernon 9/12/11

Monday - Went to Mount Vernon, VA, home of George Washington. Toured the home and farm. Home was very interesting, it started out rather small, but by the time George had finished additions you have the Mount Vernon of today - see the pics. The outside of the home appears to be stone, but actually is wood carved to simulate stone. Dinner tonight was fried pork chops, mashed potatoes and gravy, with lima beans and biscuits. Met the neighbors tonight, Mike and Diane Alexander. Time to turn in for the night.
