This morning I woke up tired as my 5 hours of sleep came to an end all too soon. It helped knowing I was in the van today, but still a slow start nonetheless. We ate breakfast on the floor/stage in a circle and I paused for a moment to take it in—the uniqueness of this experience & to appreciate eating breakfast on the floor with these people. As I was helping clean up the host, the “mess bag” from Michaela from last night was still laying around so I had to buck up and brave it and carry it to the closest trash can. Cape May NJ to Havre de Grace MD Well, as stated before we decided that the best weather window for leaving Cape May would be on Saturday, September 11th. Again, due to the tides we had to leave the anchorage in the dark at 4:20 AM. So much for not living by a schedule when you retire! There are quite a few shoals just off from Cape May but from the chart it looked like we could go over them, but as it the seas were rough (so much for the weather report) we decided to err on the side of caution in the dark and go out farther closer to the shipping lanes.
