Penobscot Narrows Bridge
Karen, Sylvan, Byrd and Carl Deer Isle, Maine July 23 to August 1, 2010
Thanks to our good friends Byrd and Carl we returned for a second year to beautiful Deer Isle. We enjoyed a week of perfect Maine weather, sunny, warm with low humidity. Highlights included a day trip to Schoodic Peninsula, a less traveled part of Acadia National Park, trips to Stonington, the spectacular house and garden tour in Castine to benefit the historical society, a performance of Flash in the Pan the local steel band, dinners with our good friends Kurt and Isobel who live in the area and just rest and relaxation. It has to be one of the most picture perfect places with every turn of the road postcard material. Maybe next summer we will be lucky enough to return for a third summer.
