We got up this morning to a beautiful day. Sunny and about 70 degrees. We went on several hikes around a couple of lakes. Its beautiful here. I'd say that about one quarter of the trees have turned either a brilliant red or yellow. What we thought would be a simple hike around the first lake, turned out to be quite a challenge. The path was all large rocks and boulders that had fallen down from the steep side of the mountain.
Our bed and breakfast is very nice. The place is on the National Registry of Historical Places. It is a large house built in 1888.
Tomorrow, we will go for a drive around the rest of the island and some more hiking. The weather is supposed to be a little cooler, but mostly sunny.
So far the idiots in our government haven't stopped us from seeing the park. We can't visit any visitor's centers, but we can park by them and hike into the park. So that is what we will do. Hopefully they will get this budget passed.
