On Day 3 we left Biloxi for a stop in New Orleans. The French Quarter was as we remembered it from our previous visit. From Harrah's we walked about 15 minutes to Cafe Du Monde for beignets and coffee.

On our return walk we passed St. Louis Cathedal in Jackson Square and the Jean Lafitte National Historical Park and Preserve. The Visitor's Center at Jean Lafitte's contains a small museum and gift shop. Lafitte was both a pirate in the Gulf of Mexico, and a hero in the Battle of New Orleans during the War of 1812. A very fascinating man.

By noon we were back on the road for the 5 hour drive to Springhill Suites by Marriott in Bossier City, our home for the night.

Interstate 49 was an unexpected surprise. It'd be enough to give the horse and buggy legislators of Illinois and Ohio a heart attack......Speed Limit 75!!!!

After some gaming at Harrah's Louisiana Downs and the Horseshoe, we enjoyed a buffet and called it another day.
