On the Lake
All the cabins are on stilts right on the water with a beach behind. This one had sleeping accommodation for 8 so it was perfect. Debbie, Bobby and their neighbours, Melinda and Lauren, rented a cabin in Fontainebleau State Park for the New Year’s weekend. Melinda and Lauren have two children, Thomas is 12 and Grace is 8. Thomas was away hunting with his uncle for the weekend. We had a wonderful weekend. Bobby barbecued steaks on New Year’s Eve and Lauren fried fish on New Year’s Day. Needless to say the food was delicious and I even got a “to go" plate!! Jacob stayed in the motor home with me both nights and Ben stayed for one night. Ellie and Grace were having too much fun, and I’m sure were happy to have a break from the boys.
The cabins were spectacular, fully equipped and located in the most perfect spot. I just had to add the weekend to my travel blog.
Ike and I are leaving Louisiana tomorrow and will miss everyone here; but especially, Debbie, Bobby, Jacob, Ellie and Ben of course. This was just such a perfect weekend to end my stay here.

to go plate
Just to remind you that your "to go plate", in your South African days would have been pad kos (direct translation food for the road). Best wishes for 2010, may your travels be safe and hassel free. Love from sunny SA
