We're sending out love from Bardstown, KY! That's right- we've made it to our final time zone. Surrounded by history of several wars and accents thick as gravy, we think we are about 10 days from the Virginia Coastline and we've been making the most of it. Missouri was bittersweet. The Ozarks were beautiful, but hilly! The scenery was fragrantly lush and mysteriously foggy, but that meant for buggy riding and sleeping. The drivers were either very cautious or willing to KILL, KILL, KILL. Yes, Missourians seem have a distaste for bicyclists. We even had a woman, who was driving in the opposite direction, slow down to 15mph, poke her head out her window, and call us every obscenity they have thought of in Missoury. She wasn’t that imaginative and, thus, ended up repeating herself several ... read more

Hello Friends and Family! I made this site to record this summer's road trip. Thanks for reading! I can't believe how much planning has gone into it. But that has been fun too. Here is my itinerary: Leave early the 14th, ten hours to Kansas City, to be at the International House of Prayer until the 16th. Have three friends, all in my small group, interning there. I don't know anyone who has gone to this church and has not left changed. Drive to Denver on the 16th, and stay with an Uncle and visit with all three of my mother's brothers. On the 18th I drive to Wyoming, 6-7 hours, to at the Wind River Reservation. On the 19th I drive to Helena, Montana for a Retreat with a group of women. On the 21st ... read more

This might be more fun that I can stand! (Putting pictures on the Internet) Here is one that is self-explanatory....DINNER! We were staying in Harpswell, Maine, which is just outside Brunswick and about an hour north of Portland. My husband's brother lives on High Head. Both husband and brother graduated from Bowdoin College in Brunswick. Dinner that night was in the home of the owners of the house we rented for the week. They are also old friends. ... read more

Almost ready for our trip to Maine. Thought I wouldn't be able to purchase a digital camera beforehand, but I was wrong. Today, thanks to an old friend, Amazon.com, I made the purchase, and, with special shipping, it will be here Thursday. I did a great deal of comparison shopping online and finally decided to go with an Olympus C765 w/10x zoom. No way could I find it at the local camera shops. But Amazon.com came through! And at a much lower price. With what I saved, I was able to pay for the special shipping, 2 extra memory cards, an extra battery, and a carrying case. ... read more

The Countdown is always difficult. The final getting ready for a trip, no matter how long or short. This trip is to Maine for just a week. Stop the mail. Stop the newspapers. Get the dog to a kennel. Get all the clothes clean and pressed. Set up the light timers. Get out the door. But the hassel is usually worth it. ... read more
