We're driving up to Minneapolis to meet Andrew's parents for the weekend. My father-in-law works for a company based out of Minneapolis, and so he travels there a few times a year. It's only a 3.5 hour drive for us to meet them up there!
On our way, we decided to stop at the Lime Creek Nature Center in Mason City, Iowa to walk around and stretch a bit. I like checking out different stops on road trips because I always think, when else will I ever see these things? It was a bit off of the highway but a nice stop nonetheless.
Inside the nature center, there were interesting displays to check out, like one that showed the wood of every tree native to Iowa. Another showed every egg laid by bird species native to Iowa. Upstairs, there was a little play area for kids. We walked around a bit outside, where they had numerous bird feeders to attract different local species. We didn't walk along any trails, but there are trails nearby that lead into the woods.
