Tonight we are camped at the Pottawattamie County fairgrounds in the small town of Avoca, Iowa. There are only two other campers here. At $20 for a full hookup site its a bargain. Avoca is on the far western side of Iowa, close to the Nebraska border. Traffic was surprisingly heavy all the way across the state on I-80, with many trucks. Iowa is definitely not as flat as one would think, mostly a rolling terrain with huge farm fields. The crops were almost all corn and soybeans, I would say about a 75/25 ratio. After we set up camp we visited a nearby county park where they had a herd of bison and a herd of elk in a large fenced in enclosure. Then we followed a tip and had dinner at a local restaurant,
