The last day of our trip. I intended to wake everyone early, but they were sleeping soundly. Instead I worked out for over an hour bike, elliptical, and pool time. I am glad I have maintained a workout schedule throughout this trip or I would not want to get on a scale. Woke the family up at 7 am for breakfast and to leave. After breakfast the plan was for me to drive through Nebraska. Nebraska was so flat and green. Very few trees were noted. The farms seemed grow hay and not corn like I would have assumed. Preface: I thought it would be fun to blog about our adventures to California. We are currently taking a cross country road trip to California to see Tim’s sister Bri in Northern California. This trip will be 12 days there and back. We will be stopping at Mount Rushmore, Yellowstone, Seattle, Redwoods of California, Las Vegas, Grand Canyon, Colorado, and Lincoln Nebraska. It will involve packing up 3 teens and 1 preteen in close contact with their siblings for days. My kids generally do not spend a day without argument, so the hope is they are no blood shed on our trip. We left all sharp objects at home for this reason and only have plastic utensils. Day Two/Tuesday,March 16, 2010 We left London at 8:30 and entered the USA at Sarnia/Port Huron and drove to La Porte, Indiana for a visit with Donna Hay Ludwig and Ed. We arrived at 3:30pm Indiana time. (we gained an hour) We were their guests at a lovely Country Club for dinner. Donna and I had breakfast to-gether on Wednesday and then we left for Chicago. Day Three/Wednesday, March 17 We arrived at the home of John and Patty Lehman shortly after the firemen had departed. John had put a corn beef on the stove to slow cook while they went to Aurora to celebrate St. Patrick's Day with son Shea at the local pub.
