Salutation my kitten bats!

The end the school year is fast approaching and human rights are still in full swing.

I recently read an article (http://worldnews.nbcnews.com/_news/2013/05/14/18245613-japanese-mayor-wwii-comfort-women-sex-slaves-necessary-for-morale?lite) about human women rights and how they were violated during WWII.

Apparently, women were forced to become sex slaves in Japan in order to boost soldier's morale. The leaders at the time say it was necessary. I, one the other hand, do not think so. There are so many human rights being broken within that situation. Humans have the right to be free from slavery (Article 4), free from degrading treatment (Article 5), and worker's rights (Article 23). Maybe my opinion is just biased because I'm an American, but I believe there were better things that those women could have been doing with their time. They could have been working great jobs and supporting their families or creating families or running businesses or so much more. It is purely unfair that they were forced to 'support' soldiers of a corrupt military that bombed Pearl Harbor which in turn caused Japan to be bombed.

For centuries, women have been persecuted and forced into slavery. Sexual slavery purely infuriates me. Women are people. Women are not pleasure toys. I believe that the leaders who were in charge when the 'Comfort women sex slave' movement was happening need to be charged for violated human rights.
