Today's plan was to get up at 6:00 am, eat breakfast and be on the road by 6:30 am, hit the freeway because it's Sunday and go as far as we possibly could. West. And, at the end of the day, pitch our tent for the first time and camp on a river for a day or two. Here's what actually happened. Wake up at 6:00 am. Go down for breakfast. Breakfast not served until 7:00 am. Spend an hour packing up, finish off yesterday's blog, watch the news and weather, change of plans. Tornado storm warning again. Decide to wait until after breakfast to reassess the weather. Leave the hotel at 8:00 am. Travel side roads in case we need to find shelter unexpectedly and quickly. Stay on back roads for 10 hours.
