In Rio De Janiero, Brazil an annual event is held called, "Carnival". Carnival is a large celebratory event that occurs every year, it originates from Italian "Carnivale" where Catholics would dress up in costumes and celebrate the day before Lent. Carnival was spread around to France, Spain, and certain catholic countries in Europe, where it was brought back to Brazil during the Portuguese colonization. Brazil's best representation of Carnival is known as "School of Samba", where large groups of dancers and musicians compete in the "School of Samba Competition".

Carnival is an important, historical, and not to mention beautiful and entertaining part of Brazilian culture. Rio is highly known for its flashy displays of "Schools of Samba", and the explosiveness and radiance of Carnival.
