RIHLA #28

1) I have grow up so much this year. I cannot believe this school year is almost over. An idea that I have strengthened this year is that our voices are an important tool that can help stop injustices. Our voices not only help us stop injustices, but they also help us be heard. Martin Luther King Jr, spoke up from the injustices oh how the blacks were being treated. He spoke his mind and people followed and change was made. Our freedom to speak and to be heard is such a privilege because there are some countrys that do not let their people speak their minds.

2) An idea that I have question this year is, will we ever have peace around the world? When will we stop looking at how we look and understand that we are all the same no matter what color we are or where we were born? Throughtout history there have been incidents where powerful leaders persecute innocent people becuase of how they look or what religion they follow.I believe once people know and understand that we are all the same in the inside, no matter how we look

on the outside, there might be less conflict between countries.

3) Students 200 years from now should look back and study me because they are going to learn to always try their best in everything they do. If they fall they should pick themselves right back up. If they do not pick themselves they are never going to reach their goal. What they would also learn is that they should always have a goal in mind. If we have a goal in mind we are likely going to achieve it. I want them to learn to become who they want to be not what others what them to be. If they do what other people want them to be, they will never be happy.

4) The human right I would like to be able to help support is Human right number 20. Right number 20 states the right to assembly. People in countries like China, Laos, and North Korea are not allow to assemble. People no matter where they live should be given the right to protest when something is not right. They should have a say when a law is going to be passed. This helps

unite people if their government hears and cares about their opinions. People, in the United States, have a privilege to assemble because when something is not right people come together and protest peacefully. For example, Noble schools around Chicago were given less money then Chicago's school to fund their schools. People who wanted to change this, gather together and peacefully protested. People heard them and stop the cuts being made on Noble schools. The right to assembly is a powerful right.
