In Bangladesh the garment industry is having a major reform. The garment industry in Bangladesh is one of the largest in the world; there are over five thousand factories and around 3.6 million garment factory workers. Recently an eight story building, Rana Plaza, collapsed in Bangladesh. in the collapse over one thousand one hundred people, and people were still being found days after the collapse. The workers human rights are being harmed because they are forced to work in unsafe conditions that put their lives at risk. I think that the issue is shocking. I didn't hear about this happening until I read the article. I am also pleased to hear that the government is taking action to fix these problems.
