I do believe that the government should be responsible for abiding by the commitments the their predecessors made in the past. The government should honor the wishes of their "ancestors". The Native Americans did not do anything to deserve maltreatment from different generations. They deserve the same amount of treatment that everyone else does. If the government made a treaty with China last year does that mean two years from now our new president is going to break that treaty? Wars begin that way. Breaking treaties give false hope to citizens. Native Americans did nothing to us from the beginning; furthermore, they are humans as well and deserve the same opportunities as every one else. How can we calm we are for the people and that we are the land of the free if we basically lie to obtain land?
