A topic that has been debated is whether a government should be responsible for abiding by the commitments that its predecessors made? Meaning should a government keep promises that were promised by a government before. I personally believe a modern government should not conform to promises that were kept before. The reason why I believe a government should not do this because the times have changed. We are not going to believe in the same things someone did years ago. I believe abiding by commitments that predecessors made would slow the progression of the government currently. I believe there should be arrangements to further help and satisfy who ever was promised something. For example, If one of your ancestors did something very wrong, should you have to carry this burden. I do not think so.
